Could this mean that the Nigerian law is promoting paedophilia?

On Tuesday, July 16th, the senate pegged the official marriage age in Nigeria at 18 years upon amendment  of the constitution. Following the amendment, Former Zamfara State Governor, now Senator, Sani Yerima, who married a 13 year old Egyptian girl in 2010, opposed the age restrictions saying it was anti-islam. For some reasons, the Senate agreed with him and made an about turn on the amendment.

The Senate has now deleted the age specification from the new constitution, leaving marriage age for women open. They stated that 'a woman is deemed to be “full of age” once she is married irrespective of the age she did so.'

So basically, this new law allows the marriage of under aged girls. What's your thoughts on this?

Sade Tinubu Ojo has been officially crowned Iya-loja of Lagos by Oba Akinolu of Lagos

Abibatu-Mogaji

Controversies over the successor of the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji have been laid to rest as the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has installed Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, as the new President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men.

Tinubu-Ojo is the daughter of former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ANC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
However, mixed reactions have continued to trail Tinubu- Ojo’s installation as some marketers argued that the title bestowed on Tinubu’s daughter could only be limited to Lagos and not the entire country.

Earning the Right to Lead

Culled From Word for Today:
***********************************
Romans 12 Vs 8:
If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
***********************************

Earning the right to lead calls for asking yourself: (1) Can I live with the results of this decision? Before you launch into something be sure you have what it takes to handle it. If you can barely cope now, how will you handle more? Before God builds the ministry, He builds the man or woman, because with added success comes added responsibility. (2)Is the return worth the investment? When you overcommit and overextend yourself, the first thing that suffers is your time with God. The next thing that suffers is your family. And without the covering of both, you'll be vulnerable. There are a lot of good causes in this world, but God will only prosper you when you focus on what He has called you to do. (3) Are my expectations realistic? William Carey said, 'Attempt great things for God and expect great things from God.' When human wisdom and ability won't take you a step further, faith will, because faith holds the hand of God. And with God, 'All things are possible.' (Matthew 19:26 NKJV) Just make sure you're operating in faith and not presumption! (4)How can I survive today in order to thrive tomorrow? Obstacles and opposition are inevitable; they're part of the journey. But you must not allow them to make you doubt God and what He's called you to do. Be like Abraham - don't 'waver', stand on God's Word. 'He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.' (Romans 4:20-21 NKJV)

Tears poured from neighbours, especially a young woman who has been trying to give birth for four years to no avail, as the police came to fetch out the baby from the well.
After a quick search by the police the mother's blood and placenta was seen on the ground a couple of meter's away from the scene of the crime.
The main suspect is already on her heels as she was warned by her close friends that the police have been involved.

Dear Ayonifemi, My Wife Lied to Me. What do i do?

From a male AFB reader.

I am married to a very pretty lady. we got married about 3weeks ago. During our courtship, she told me she was a virgin and that I would be the first man in her life.

But, to my surprise, on our wedding night i expected a lot of things during our first time together like not having a straight and easy penetration during the first intercourse which was not the case. it was so free and seemed like the other ladies I have had sex with in the past.

Back in the days when we were courting, I categorically told her that I was not a virgin and that I did have sex with my ex and so I trusted what she told me about her virginity status.

She has been loving to me though but,

My concern is this. If she was not a virgin, why would she have lied to me in the first case? Can i still trust her? My marriage is young... please what can i do?.

Please advice!

I’ve had sex with 370 men" Nigerian woman

Approaching a man at a bar, Seyi Kolade had only one thing on her mind as she chatted with the stranger - sex. Within hours the pair were in bed together and she was delighted at how her evening had panned out.

And this was not a chance encounter, for Seyi was a sex addict and it was what she did almost every day for 13 years. Last night she said: “Sex addiction took hold of my life.”

Seyi, 35, was just 17 when she became dependent on sleeping with men. By 19,

Letter to Keshi by Peter Ibezim

Stephen Keshi: Nigeria need to gain more experience

KESHI MUST LISTEN NOW!!!

Those who unnecesarily praise Eagles for this mediocrity are the real hypocrites. A country of Nigeria standard went to a competition without plans to score and you are saying i should cheer?
This team is obviously good, the fight, the play out their heart but they are not the best we can get . A blind man in Nigeria knows that most of the players in this team does not have business playing for super Eagles, no! not in confederation cup may be WAFU cup. Gambo Mohammed for Ike Uche? Joseph Akpala for Osaze Odewingie? Babatunde Michael for Obafemi Martins? Joseph Akpala for Victor Anichebe? Anthony Ujah for Obinna Nsofor? . what will happen if Keshi should competition to this team?
A situation where Efe will know if they keep scoring from his wing then a Nedum Onuoha or Chibuzo Okonkwo will take his place. A situation where Echegile will continue to do well knowing that there is a Taiwo and Suswan gearing for opportunity.

LAUTECH Student Killed

Reports from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, has it that a female student of the institution, identified as Seun was found dead around 10 pm on Friday without brain, eyes and breasts. The hair on her private part was equally shaved too.

The deceased’s mutilated body was found along Under-G Student Area of Ogbomosho, behind Jastok Guest house.

It was gathered that, the late 100 level student of Transport Management Department was declared missing by her friends and room mates after she was last seen four days ago.

However, following the discovery of her body, some of her close friends were forced to disclose that she left the hostel days ago for a party and hadn’t returned since then, leaving many to suggest that perhaps she was raped to death and eventually used for some rituals.

The deceased’s boyfriend has been arrested and handed over to the police as the prime suspect.

Mikel moving on to Galatasaray

Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi who scored an outstanding goal in yesterday's clash against the South American Champions Uruguay is set to move to Galatasaray from Chelsea. Mikel told Sabah, a daily Turkish newspaper that the Turkey football club made an offer that he's very pleased with and is looking forward to life in Istanbul.

I asked Drogba for advice and he told me that Istanbul is a fantastic city, that Galatasaray is a huge club and that I have to make the move. I have played at Chelsea for a long time and it's now time for me to leave.
'I'm still only 26 and it's great to receive an offer from a club (Galatasaray) playing Champions League football and doing well in the competition.'
Talks have reached an advanced stage between Chelsea and Galatasaray. Chelsea won't make the move difficult and considering my salary, there won't be a problem. All that is left is for the clubs to reach an agreement.'
Is this idea okay?

LETTER TO DSTV ON BBA FROM AFRICA YOUTH

Some one sent this to me and i thought tis worth posting here to have your comments. I have copied and pasted it here... Unedited!

For ur blog
 I strongly support this...

LETTER TO DSTV ON BBA FROM AFRICA YOUTH by OKUNGBOWA PAUL O (edited)

I urge n plead with All Africa Youths, let's ask DSTV to give Us a BBA where Africa Youths go and discuss, proffer solution and solve Africa Problems not this morally loosed show where single parents who can't keep their r/ship go into the house to show their fallen breast, drug addicts, porn stars , no mannered people mix up and get rewarded.

Haba! Having sex in the public with somebody who is not your spouse? We cab make this the last of that valueless program. Initially, it was okay but recently sexual immorality has finds it ugly head into the show.

BBA sells immoral behaviour and attracts lots of fans who enjoy it. They even prefer open sex every day. There is no single thing I learn from the programme, except promoting sex and immorality. Its time we ignore it.

How long does it take to imbibe a habit? 21 days and BBA runs 90days, subtly making people addicts to bad habits and destroying the values we hold dear that has built out families & homes.

Say NO to TV shows without value, reality shows with rich immorality is a NO NO!. PLEASE REBROADCAST AND DROP YOUR VIEWS.

My own thoughts:
What do you think? hmmmm, me to watch biggy ooooo! but something seems wrong really? and after reading this i feel- what really motivates me to watch this programme.

Renewing Old Time Love

!It's a long read, but good all the way!

Happy reading.

Hey! hold a minute, I forgot to tell you I got this from a friends wall.

My name is Dayo. I’m a typical Nigerian guy and I cherish my Fridays a lot; I get to hang out with the sickest guys every Friday night and secondly, It’s another escape from my nagging and boring wife. I get confused sometimes on whether she’s my mother or my wife. Don’t get it twisted; I love her pieces. It just gets complicated; like I wish we never got married…marriage has turned her into something that doesn’t amuse me. I wish she was still the adventurous, charming, high spirited lady I dated for five years.
A lot of people say its unethical for married guys to be found in a club, but I wish everyone won’t be too quick to judge and understand that people look for fun to run away from their problems; they just want to breathe, like me.
I forgot to say that I work in Guarantee Trust Bank along Lekki, I love my job and my job loves me, maybe its because I’m the senior banking officer. Lol. This particular morning, a lady breezed into my office. My heart raced faster because I had not sighted anything this beautiful in a long while. She wasn’t the typical slender Barbie, in fact, she was a bit chubby but her smile, cuteness and…I was tripped.
“Hi Good morning! Your ATM has swallowed my card!” She laughed, unlike a typical customer that would ram you.
I just tried to form Boss laughter…
“Good morning, You know what? I’d personally make sure they get it out for you, but not today. Can you wait till Monday?” I smiled
“GTB shaaa! OK, can I just drop my number so you could call me up or just text when its ready so I don’t come twice? Please? My name is Nancy” She blinked her eyes in a funny way.“Sure” I smiled
We exchanged numbers. What a lucky Friday!  So it was 10:00pm and I headed to the club…as usual my friends were chilling for me. My wife had called a couple of times, I just ignored it. She knows I’m never home Friday nights. “Look at you!” I heard someone say. I raised my head and it was the ATM lady-Nancy. “Wow, look at you too!” I was surprised to see her but I was happy I didn’t have to wait till Monday to see her again. “Happy Friday!” She screamed because of the noise, “Wanna dance?” I didn’t even have the chance to answer, she already pulled me to dance floor. I really suck at dancing but she helped me; she was a great dancer! I had fun! At some point we decided to go to a private area and we talked, ranging from work, business to personal life. I tried to hide my ring as much as possible, I certainly didn’t want this to end now.
“You are a really wonderful lady. You are so interesting…any guy would want to be with you all day” I said. “I wasn’t always like this but I have learned the hard way that life is just too short to be sad” she sang  Then her phone rang…  “Hey baby! Yeah I’m at the private lounge, I’d like you to meet someone…alright boo” she talked excitedly as usual.  I was in shock until this tall handsome man walks up to her and kisses her.
“You were late. Meet Dayo; I met him this morning, he’s helping with your ATM I told you got swallowed and Dayo this is my B to the O-O,” she laughed “Meet my husband Kolade, we only come here to dance every fortnight Friday; away from work, stress and kids.”  “Wow, a pleasure” I managed to shake him.  Then she stood now excitedly holding her husband’s arms.
“Why don’t we invite Dayo for Mimi’s 16th birthday tomorrow?” Her husband said
They have kids too? How long have they been married and they look like a couple just dating! “Silly me, please come for my second daughter’s 16th tomorrow. It would be an honor” She brought out an I.V from her purse.  I began to feel so ashamed of myself…this was another guy like me, getting it right with one woman.  I collected the I.V and promised to be there. “See you tomorrow! Have you had something to eat Kolade?” she talked and dragged her husband along.

They left and I kept staring at the thin air like I had seen a ghost. They come just to dance together every fortnight Fridays? Why didn’t I think of that! Temi loves to dance…she also likes long walks, she loves to talk…she loves jazz music, there’s this vivid picture I have of me putting her hand on my chest when we danced at a jazz club on our first year anniversary…I found myself typing all the things I knew Temi loved to do on my Ipad and I realized I had denied her of all…I had made her the old woman she acts.  What the hell was I doing here! I didn’t even tell my friends goodbye, I walked out of the club into my Jaguar. Temi’s call came through and I picked at first ring. “Temi?” My heart raced. “I know you are not coming home…”  “I am, stay up so we can gist. Been a while” I decided to do everything on that list and to even add many more for the rest of my lifetime with her.
“Are you alright?” She was shocked I suppose “And I’d like us to go for a birthday party tomorrow. I want you to meet this amazing couple”  “You sound different Dayo”  “Maybe I’m different”
“Don’t say it! don’t say it! when you come we will gist very well” she laughed
She laughed!!! In just that laughter that I hadn’t heard in a while, she sounded like the lady I married six years ago…

Hmmmm.... creating memorable moments with our partner matters. Do you know that little things are the sweetest things? Just creating time to gist and laugh with your partner, having a day in the week that’s exclusively for you both-No friends or kids allowed.
Lady, when last have you told your partner he is so darn hot? Guy! When last have you told your lady she is the sweetest thing? When last have you whispered ‘Thank you’? When last have you been quick to say ‘I’m sorry’?
Do you even have a clue on what your partner loves to do?
When you ignore little things, they are the little pieces of rocks that build up to become a mountain you can’t easily break down.

Of Sanusi (CBN Governor), Sexting, And Sexual Harassment:

According to sahara reports, important questions were raised concerning the sexual (mis)conduct of Nigerian officials and their subordinates.
Much of this concern arises after news arose that Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is allegedly engaged in an affair with a Mrs. Maryam Yaro, assistant director and subordinate to the governor.
Moral questions aside (both Sanusi and Yaro are married with children), the alleged affair, which involves a series of incriminating texts, extended hotel stays, and secret professions of love, is also raising eyebrows because of violations of the Nigerian Constitution’s Public Officers Code of Conduct it embraces.
Sources inside the bank claim that these latest developments are part of a culture of impropriety and immorality that Sanusi has instituted during his tenure as governor. One insider, who requested to remain anonymous claimed that such practices have permeated the hiring and employment processes at the CBN.

“This man (Sanusi) is the most morally bankrupt governor the CBN has ever had,” the source told PREMIUM TIMES. “Forget all the pretences, he is a shameless man of loose character.”
Reports gathered from callers during this week’s Talk Back session (Sahara TV) echoed similar sentiments, saying things along the lines of “I’m very ashamed. He is someone I looked up to as a mentor,” and “fidelity is a key arm of integrity”. Proponents of such serious scrutiny of government officials were also extremely vocal on Twitter. Several sounded off about the need for public officials to maintain a critical commitment to morally upstanding lifestyles, as reflections of both the government and the people.

Ultimately, callers and tweeters were relatively united on solutions to such issues, calling for a tighter and more heavily enforced code of conduct and external investigations of public officials. Such solutions, they believed, might indeed help curb such instances of corruption within government agencies and departments.

The Doctor says you will die in the next 50 days...

Let me ask you guys a weird question. Of course, I ask or I don't, it is still what I think we should ask ourselves. Sanni Abacha Died at the age of 54 yrs, yar'adua died at the age of 58 yrs with the wealth of this world. several I can't mention but encompasses the wealthy, average and poor .

Food for thought!

Live a life of wealth, have mansions in several countries, own a private jet, wear only designer outfits, friends with presidents, captains of industries, celebrities, have so much money that you even don't know what to use it for and then at age 90, the doctor tells you that you will die in the next 50 days.

 Here is my question:

What will you do? Do you consider it a life well lived?

After 90 years, what will you say you have achieved?

Nickedness for Fame

So what next after all this? They call this Hot Bikini Body and then, I wonder. What makes it hot and what makes it cold other than trying to feel important because of the emptiness of the spirit. simple put- Low Self exteem which everyone wows around. Anyway, this is just my personal opin. Then, I recall the saying "Your body is the temple of the Lord" so where does Bikini come into play?

Serena shows off Bikini

Does this make Serena Williams better????????????

Now am wondering what makes a body hot or cold.

Everyone is going the bikini route this days. May God help us oooooooooo!!!

Homosexuals protest in Anambra state

Litigants and witnesses at the Atani Chief Magistrate Court in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State Wednesday witnessed a mild drama in the court premises as some people who claimed to be homosexuals nearly disrupted court proceedings in solidarity with two suspected homosexuals standing trial for allegedly committing same sex offence.

As early as 9 .00am, a large number of men with feminist outlook started gathering at the court premises to the surprise of the people around and it was only then that information filtered into the area that they came to identify with two of their members who were arrested by the police and charged to court for same sex violation related offense.

Nigeria Tipped to Win Today's Clash Kick-Off Time @ 8pm

Namibia’s interim coach, Ricardo Mannetti has the unenviable task of facing African champions, Nigeria whom plays today without several first-team stars who have been ruled out of today's 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier for varying reasons.

Also, Namibia is faced with another setback as a number of Foreign-based professionals, Ronald Ketjijere (University of Pretoria), Henrico Botes (Platinum Stars), Heini Isaacks (Maritzburg United) and Rudolf Bester (Orlando Pirates) are all injured.

To make matters worse for Namibia and much better for the Eagles, There was more bad news from the injury room for Mannetti on Tuesday as it was revealed that the duo of Oliver Risser (Aldershot Town) and Manfred Starke (Hansa Rostock) will both miss the game as a result of injury and illness respectively while the biggest absentee however is captain, Da Costa Angulo who will also miss the match due to suspension following two previous yellow cards against Malawi and Kenya.

According to sources, Mannetti has however refused to let his head drop in the face of the obvious setbacks and is looking to go for the kill against the African champions.

“The only thing that I can predict is that these boys will not roll over and be taken for a ride on this pitch on Wednesday evening. These guys will fight for the entire 90 minutes and they will make every Namibian fan very proud of being a Namibian,” he told namibiasport.com.na.

“We need all the Namibian fans to get behind this team and forget about the fact that (former coach) Roger (Palmgren) is not there.

Nigeria currently leads Group F of African zone 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying with eight points from four matches while Namibia will be eliminated from the race to Brazil if they fail to win against the Super Eagles on Wednesday.

The game kicks off at 8pm at the Sam Nujuoma stadium, Windhoek.

Jiah Khan's suicide letter

Details following the pics is a six paged letter from Jiah Khan, a Bollywood actress who just committed suicide. Nawa oooo!

'I don't know how to say this to you but I might as well now as I have nothing to lose. I've already lost everything. If you're reading this I might have already left or about to leave. I am broken inside. You may not have known this but you affected me deeply to a point where I lost myself in loving you. Yet you tortured me every day.

These days I see no light I wake up not wanting to wake up. There was a time I saw my life with you, a future with you. But you shattered my dreams. I feel dead inside. I've never given so much of myself to someone or cared so much. You returned my love with cheating and lies.

It didn't matter how many gifts I gave you or how beautiful I looked for you. I was scared of getting pregnant but I gave myself completely.

When I first met you I was driven, ambitious and disciplined. Then I fell for you, a love I thought would bring out the best in me. I don't know why destiny brought us together.

After all the pain, the rape, the abuse, the torture I have seen previously I didn't deserve this. I didn't see any love or commitment from you. I just became increasingly scared that you would hurt me mentally or physically.

Your life was about partying and women. Mine was you and my work. If I stay here I will crave you and miss you.

So, I am kissing my 10-year career and dreams goodbye. I never went with anyone else. I am a loyal person. No other woman will give you as much as I did or love you as much as I did. I can write that in my blood...

You never even met my sister. I bought your sister presents... You never appreciated my love, kicked me in the face... The Goa trip was my birthday present but even after you cheated I still spent on you.
I aborted our baby when it hurt me deeply... I wish you had loved me like I loved you... I leave this place with nothing but broken dreams and empty promises. All I want now is to go to sleep and never wake up again...'
