Could this mean that the Nigerian law is promoting paedophilia?

On Tuesday, July 16th, the senate pegged the official marriage age in Nigeria at 18 years upon amendment  of the constitution. Following the amendment, Former Zamfara State Governor, now Senator, Sani Yerima, who married a 13 year old Egyptian girl in 2010, opposed the age restrictions saying it was anti-islam. For some reasons, the Senate agreed with him and made an about turn on the amendment.

The Senate has now deleted the age specification from the new constitution, leaving marriage age for women open. They stated that 'a woman is deemed to be “full of age” once she is married irrespective of the age she did so.'

So basically, this new law allows the marriage of under aged girls. What's your thoughts on this?

Abibatu-Mogaji

Controversies over the successor of the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji have been laid to rest as the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has installed Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, as the new President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men.

Tinubu-Ojo is the daughter of former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ANC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
However, mixed reactions have continued to trail Tinubu- Ojo’s installation as some marketers argued that the title bestowed on Tinubu’s daughter could only be limited to Lagos and not the entire country.

Earning the Right to Lead

Culled From Word for Today:
***********************************
Romans 12 Vs 8:
If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
***********************************

Earning the right to lead calls for asking yourself: (1) Can I live with the results of this decision? Before you launch into something be sure you have what it takes to handle it. If you can barely cope now, how will you handle more? Before God builds the ministry, He builds the man or woman, because with added success comes added responsibility. (2)Is the return worth the investment? When you overcommit and overextend yourself, the first thing that suffers is your time with God. The next thing that suffers is your family. And without the covering of both, you'll be vulnerable. There are a lot of good causes in this world, but God will only prosper you when you focus on what He has called you to do. (3) Are my expectations realistic? William Carey said, 'Attempt great things for God and expect great things from God.' When human wisdom and ability won't take you a step further, faith will, because faith holds the hand of God. And with God, 'All things are possible.' (Matthew 19:26 NKJV) Just make sure you're operating in faith and not presumption! (4)How can I survive today in order to thrive tomorrow? Obstacles and opposition are inevitable; they're part of the journey. But you must not allow them to make you doubt God and what He's called you to do. Be like Abraham - don't 'waver', stand on God's Word. 'He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.' (Romans 4:20-21 NKJV)

Sources state they saw the little unlucky child later and when they came for his rescue he was already swollen and floating lifelessly on the surface of the the dim water. Some women don't deserve to be called mothers.
Tears poured from neighbours, especially a young woman who has been trying to give birth for four years to no avail, as the police came to fetch out the baby from the well.
After a quick search by the police the mother's blood and placenta was seen on the ground a couple of meter's away from the scene of the crime.
The main suspect is already on her heels as she was warned by her close friends that the police have been involved.

Dear Ayonifemi, My Wife Lied to Me. What do i do?

From a male AFB reader.

I am married to a very pretty lady. we got married about 3weeks ago. During our courtship, she told me she was a virgin and that I would be the first man in her life.

But, to my surprise, on our wedding night i expected a lot of things during our first time together like not having a straight and easy penetration during the first intercourse which was not the case. it was so free and seemed like the other ladies I have had sex with in the past.

Back in the days when we were courting, I categorically told her that I was not a virgin and that I did have sex with my ex and so I trusted what she told me about her virginity status.

She has been loving to me though but,

My concern is this. If she was not a virgin, why would she have lied to me in the first case? Can i still trust her? My marriage is young... please what can i do?.

Please advice!
